Visitor Provided Update:
Pvt James Morgan was the son of Floyd Morris Morgan and Grace Louis Morgan. His sister Mavis' obituary mentions that her brother James was killed in WWII. The family is on the 1930 US Census for Twin Falls County Idaho as documented on Ancestry.com. Information submitted by T. Hodges, May 3, 2014.

Website Reply:
Searching for "James Morgan" in the National Archives WWII Army Enlistment and Reserve Corps databases returns 573 names, including five from the State of Idaho. However, none of them match the Army Serial Number for this James Morgan. For the most part, serial numbers are still a very good way to identify a specific individual, but the current National Archives database contains gaps between some series of numbers, including the 1902100 series.
Of the thousands of Americans serving in the military with the last name of "Morgan", at least nineteen died while in Prisoner of War status. Supplying the names of his parents and sister provides the key piece of information that narrows this POW Casualty, PVT James A. Morgan, down to only one possible individual.
It is interesting that the 1930 Census lists this family as residing in Twin Falls (or Twin Falls County) but his loss is recorded in the Ada County listing. My best guess is that either his induction physical was conducted in Boise, or that his parents may have relocated to Ada County (possibly to support the war effort?) and the next-of-kin notification was delivered to the new address.
Thank you so much to T. Hodges for this updated information on Pvt Morgan. May 5, 2014
