He married Margaret M. Giesler Buchholz in Woods, Oklahoma on January 15, 1944.
There were no records found that Robert and Margaret had children.
He voluntarily enlisted into the US Army Air Forces from Monroe County, Wisconsin,
Enlisting at Chanute Field Illinois on August 31, 1940.
His loss is recorded in the
Washington World War II Honor List of Dead and Missing,
page 12, Pierce County,
published by the War Department in June 1946.

B. At the time TSG Buchholz was Killed In Action the 97th Bomb Group was conducting bombing missions over Germany on July 21, 1944.
C. His Hospital Admission Record would indicate that he died on that mission over Germany and his aircraft returned to base in England.
