He Married Faye Smith Becker in Kittitas County on May 14, 1942.

There were no records found that would indicate Vernon and Faye had children.

He was inducted into the US Army Infantry from Pierce County, Washington,
Enlisting in Tacoma on February 25, 1943.

His loss is recorded in the
