Note 1: The death location, "In an Unknown Location in China" is based on the best information available at this time. In the case of SGT Baldasare, this location was estimated on:

A. His QMC Form 14, Interment In the Fort Snelling National Cemetery document, identifies his assigned unit as the "Air Corps".

B. At the time SGT Baldasare Died, one of his crew members, Flight Officer Herbert R. Briggs, was assigned to the Air Transport Command, India-China Division. It is highly likely that SGT Baldasare was also assigned to this same Command.

C. His status of "DNB" indicates that when SGT Baldasare died on September 9, 1945, it was most likely the result of a Non-Combat Aircraft Accident. This theory is also supported by a newspaper clipping submitted to the PFC Edward Jasinski Find A Grave Memorial, 832010.

D. Further information on the Air Transport Command and the India-China Division can be found at Wikipedia site, India-China Division, Air Transport Command.
