A. The American Battle Monuments Commission website identifies his assigned unit as the 73rd Fighter Squadron, 18th Fighter Group.

B. At the time 2LT Arwood was declaired Missing In Action, the 18th Fighter Group was conducting operations in the Pacific during July 1942.

C. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency reports: ARWOOD, CHARLES E. 2d Lt, O-433776, AAF, 7/23/1942, 73rd FIGHTER SQUADRON, 18th FIGHTER GROUP, PACIFIC OCEAN.
