Donald Snider married Mary Lillian Chandler Sanford (Mary Juran) in Lewiston Idaho on April 12, 1941.

He was inducted into the US Army from Asotin County, Washington,
Enlisting in Spokane Washington on June 24, 1943.

The death location, "In Lyme Bay, England" is based on the best information available at this time. In the case of PVT Snider, this location was estimated on:
A. The American Battle Monuments Commission website identifies his assigned unit as the 462nd Amphibious Truck Company, date of death as April 28, 1944 and
that he was awarded the Purple Heart.
B. At the time PVT Snider was Killed In Action the 462nd was participating in Exercise Tiger in the English Channel. His craft, the LST-531 was sunk by German torpedo boats in Lyme Bay, England.
C. Hospital Admission Records indicate that PVT Snider died on April 28, 1944, listed as a "Casualty, battle". His body was not recovered.
