A. His OQMC Form 623, Application For Headstone or Marker, identifies his assigned unit as Company F, the 172nd Infantry Regiment, 43rd Infantry Division, Enlistment date June 13, 1944 and date of death as March 21, 1945.
B. At the time PVT Fishburn was Killed In Action the 43rd Infantry Division was conducting combat operations on Luzon, Philippine Islands during March 1945.
C. Hospital Admission Records indicate that PVT Fishburn was "Not in Medical Installation Prior to Death" and post mortem examination found a "Bullet, or Small Arms" wounds.
