European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal Awarded for military service for service within the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater between December 7, 1941 and November 8, 1945.
World War II Victory Medal Awarded for military service between December 7, 1941 and December 31, 1946, both dates inclusive.

Dale Code married Ruth Ann Burnett, 1922-2005 in 1943.

No records were found that Dale and Ruth had children.

Dale Code voluntarily entered the US Army Air Forces from Asotin County, Washington.

His loss is recorded in the
Washington World War II Honor List of Dead and Missing, page 1, Asotin County,
published by the War Department in June 1946.

Note 1, Death Location: "In Normandy, France" is based on the best information available at this time. In the case of FL O Code, this location was estimated on:

A. His QMC Form 14, Interment In the Arlington National Cemetery document, identifies his assigned unit as the U.S. Army Air Corps and date of death as June 7, 1944.

B. At the time FL O Code was Killed In Action the IX Troop Carrier Command was supporting the 101st and the 82nd Airborne Divisions in and over Normandy, France during June 6th and 7th 1944.

C. As a glider pilot, FL O Code would have been supporting Mission Galveston or Mission Hackensack on the morning of June 7th 1944.
