A. His Find A Grave obituary identifies his assigned unit as the 3017th AAF Base Unit, Hobbs AAFB NM.
B. At the time S SG Huse died, his aircraft, B-17F tail number 42-31006, was conducting flight training operations in and around Lea County, New Mexico on May 10, 1944.
C. Hospital Admission Records indicate that S SG Huse died of unspecified injuries as a result of an aircraft crash. The accident investigation listed the probable cause of the crash as a failure in the oxygen system.
