American Campaign Service Medal Awarded for military service within the American Theater between December 7, 1941 and March 2, 1946.
European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal Awarded for military service for service within the European-African-MiddleEastern Theater between December 7, 1941 and November 8, 1945.
World War II Victory Medal Awarded for military service between December 7, 1941 and December 31, 1946, both dates inclusive.

PVT Lewey O. Lemley was born Januray 14, 1914,
the son of George Lemley and Nervie Sims Lemley.
He was married to Hazel Bell Abbott Lemley (Hammack) and they had two children,
Ruby Nell Lemley (4/16/1941-4/17/1941) and Ozlee Lemley (1942-2015).

PVT Lemley entered the US Army from Winston County, Alabama,
Enlisting at Fort McClellan Alabama on July 22, 1943.

His loss is recorded in the
Alabama World War II Honor List of Dead and Missing, page 27, Winston County,
published by the War Department in June 1946.

His name is not listed on the American Battle Monuments Commission website.

Note 1: The death location, "In Western France" is based on the best information available at this time. In the case of PVT Lewey Lemley, this location was not verified by eyewitness statement or official U.S. Army After Action Report. This location was estimated on
A. The Find A Grave website identifying his unit as: "13th Inf 8th Division WWII."
B. The 8th Infantry Division was conducting defensive operations in Western France during October 1944.
C. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum entry "...in early July 1944, the "Golden Arrow" division landed on Utah Beach in Normandy, just weeks after the Allies invaded France on D-Day. Shortly after its arrival, the division captured the French cities of Rennes and Brest."
