European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal Awarded for military service for service within the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater between December 7, 1941 and November 8, 1945.
World War II Victory Medal Awarded for military service between December 7, 1941 and December 31, 1946, both dates inclusive.

PVT Marshall R. Sims was born in Sunny South, Alabama January 30, 1917
and was the son of William Joel Sims and Willie Jane Williamson Sims.

His wife was Ethel Morgan Sims and they had two sons, Cossey Lamar (Bill) Sims and William Thurston Sims.

He was inducted into the US Army from Wilcox County, Enlisting at Fort McClellan on January 11, 1944.

His loss is recorded in the
Alabama World War II Honor List of Dead and Missing, page 27, Wilcox County,
published by the War Department in June 1946.

His name is not listed on the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) website.
