A. The American Battle Monuments Commission website identifies his assigned unit as the 55th Fighter Squadron, 20th Fighter Group.

B. At the time 1 LT Anderson went Missing In Action his 20th Fighter Group P-51D Mustang fighter (SN: 44-13733) was conducting an escort mission to Berlin. Records at the American Air Museum In Britain indicate that his aircraft was hit by flak and machine gunfire from the ground and crashed near Esbjerg Denmark.

C. That 1 LT Anderson is currently listed as Missing In Action on the American Battle Monuments Commission website would indicate that his remains were unrecoverable at the crash site near Esbjerg Denmark.
