PFC Hill was born September 9, 1913, the son of James K. Polk Hill and Lily Parker Hill, and
he was married to Ardell Aaron Horsley. PFC Homer Hill entered the US Army from
Fort McClellan, Winston County, Alabama, Enlisting on November 1, 1942.

His loss is recorded in the
Alabama World War II Honor List of Dead and Missing, page 27, Winston County,
published by the War Department in June 1946.

His name is not listed on the American Battle Monuments Commission website.

Note 1: The death location, "In Gotha District, Germany" is based on the best information available at this time. In the case of PFC Hill, this location was not verified by eyewitness statement or official U.S. Army report. This location was estimated on:

A. FindAGrave.com website entry identifying his home state, rank and unit as "Alabama PFC 922 Field Arty 102 Div World War II".

B. 102nd Infantry Division Artillery historical records report his unit was performing occupation duties in the Gotha District, Germany on June 24, 1945.
