Note 1: The death location, "In Genoa Italy" is based on the best information available at this time. In the case of TEC 5 Allen, this location was verified by U.S. Army After Action Report. This location was based on:

A. The American Battle Monuments Commission website identifies his assigned unit as the 679th Tank Destroyer Battalion, the 679th was attached to the 92nd Infantry Division during April 1945.

B. The National Archives records of the 679th Tank Destroyer Battalion hand written diary entry (see below) for April 29, 1945:  "29 - Tec 5 Frank Allen, ASN 14193756, Hq Co, killed cleaning .30 cal. M.G."

C. National Archives 679th Tank Destroyer Battalion Official Document, "UNIT HISTORY FOR APRIL, 1945" type written entries for April 26 to 30, 1945, as transcribed below:
  26 - Moved to parade ground type bivouac, North of Sarzana, Italy.
  27 - Routine.
  28 - Moved to Genoa, Italy.
  29 - Tec 5 Frank Allen, 14193756, Hq Co, killed cleaning .30 cal. MG.
  30 - Routine.
