Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal


Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal (APCM) is awarded for service within the Asiatic-Pacific Theater between December 7, 1941 and March 2, 1946 under any of the following conditions:

  1. On permanent assignment in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
  2. In a passenger status or on temporary duty for 30 consecutive days or 60 nonconsecutive days.
  3. In active combat against the enemy and awarded a combat decoration or furnished a certificate by the commanding general of a corps, higher unit, or independent force that the member actually participated in combat.

 The boundaries of the Asiatic-Pacific Theater are as follows:
  - Eastern Boundary: Coincides with the western boundary of the American Theater.
  -Western Boundary: From the North Pole, south along the 60th meridian east longitude to its intersection with the east boundary of Iran, then south along the Iran boundary to the Gulf of Oman and the intersection of the 60th meridian east longitude, then south along the 60th meridian east longitude to the South Pole.

Authorized Devices:
 - A service star is authorized to indicate participation in certain engagements with the enemy.
 - An Arrowhead Device is authorized to denote participation in a combat parachute jump, helicopter assault landing, combat glider landing, or amphibious assault landing, while assigned or attached as a member of an organized force carrying out an assigned tactical mission.
